Use English as a way to share the Gospel

Around the globe!

People worldwide are clamoring to learn English so they can get better jobs and better pay. Speaking English is an important skill for so many reasons.

It’s exciting to see how the Holy Spirit is using this desire to learn English to bring people into a relationship with Jesus Christ. God is working through teachers, camp counselors, and interns who have answered the call to go and serve.

Here’s how God could use you as a witness:

  • through excellence in your teaching and work
  • through your life and lifestyle—by modeling fairness, care, concern for and acceptance of individuals, Christ-honoring behavior, and by showing Christ’s love
  • through sharing about your relationship with Christ as opportunities open in discussions with campers, students, and colleagues

Sound interesting? If you speak English fluently and would like to help others learn English, check out these opportunities.

English Intensives

Spend 3-10 weeks this coming summer teaching English and building relationships at one of TeachBeyond’s English Intensives hosted in a variety of different countries. These programs go beyond conversational English to also include the teaching of reading, writing, listening, or TOEFL preparation in a more structured, classroom program. Students range in age from elementary school through adults. Sound intriguing? Go to Intensives for details, a list of programs, and more.

Bilingual Schools

You want to be a light for Christ to your students and colleagues, and you’re willing to work in a creative access country where your witness will be your life, your excellence in teaching, and the Christian values you espouse. When people ask why you’re different, you explain.

Consider joining our team of teachers working at a grade 1-12 school. These bilingual schools serve students from the local culture. The schools use internationally-recognized curricula to ensure that students are prepared to study, work, and live anywhere in the world. Find out more here.

English Language Centers

TeachBeyond is opening English Language Centers in Europe, Asia, and Latin America. We need instructors who are not only professional and serious about teaching English, but also have a love for people and want their students to enjoy the learning experience. If this sounds like you—and you also want to share Christ’s love in the process—consider joining us.

We provide the curriculum, orientation, and ongoing training. Programming includes English test preparation, adult English language training, after-school children’s programs, and more. Read further: LinGo English Language Centers

English-Enriched Schools

If you would like to spend a year or more teaching conversational English in a local, public high school in the Czech Republic, Hungary, or other locations, TeachBeyond’s English Enriched School program is for you.

Imagine living in a country steeped in history and having opportunities to get to know the culture first-hand as you make friends with fellow teachers. You may be the only Christian in your school—perhaps the only Christian your students or colleagues will ever meet. There are opportunities to meet with students after school in an English or drama club where they can practice their English—or perhaps you can help with Cru, Young Life, or IFES/InterVarsity where you can more openly share your faith.

Requirements for the English-Enriched Schools program are a bachelor’s degree in any subject or field plus TEFL training, which we can provide. Teaching experience is not necessary but is helpful. Find out more here.
